Dearth of Competent Lawyers: Enugu Employs 3 SANs

The Enugu State Government has gone outside its Ministry of Justice to retained three Senior Advocates of Nigeria to handle “complex, high profile” lawsuits involving the state.

The three lawyers, according to the Commissioner for Information, Dr. Godwin Udeuhele, are Offodile Okafor, Anthony Ani, and A. J. Offiah.

On why the state went outside the state’s Ministry of Justice to engage the SANs, the commissioner said, “The arrangement was necessitated by the dearth of competent legal practitioners in the state’s Ministry of Justice that can handle high-profile cases instituted against the government and its MDAs.”
