The annual SimmonsCooper Advocacy Development Initiative  (SCAD) competition was held on November 4th 2016.

This year, the dispute scenario focused on industrial and employment litigation. For any democratic society, the issues of citizens’ employment, labour rights and industrial laws are vital.

Several entries were received out of which 10 finalists emerged. The finalists were selected after a thorough vetting process and invited to argue their positions orally before an excellent panel of judges including Hon. Justice Candide-Johnson, Mr. Fola Arthur-Worrey, Mrs. Rotimi, Prof. Atsenua, Prof. Oyewo and Bode Olanipekun.

For SimmonsCooper Partners, it is an opportunity to reflect its commitment to transforming society by stoking interest in current legal issues and developing analytic, oral and reasoning skills of would be lawyers.

SCAD is a community service effort of SimmonsCooper Partners and a brain child of the Vice President, Prof. Osinbajo who was formally a Partner in the firm.
