The Federal Government has initiated moves to obtain an order of forfeiture of monies in accounts operated in Nigeria without the Bank Verification Numbers (BVN)

In an ex-parte application brought by the Federal Government  before Honourable Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja the FG is seeking an order directing banks to show cause why the monies should not be forfeited.

Granting the Order, the Honourable Court directs the listed banks to, among other things file an affidavit to show the particulars of such accounts and the amounts standing to their credits.
