The Environmental Law Research Institute in collaboration with Women Green Fellowship and Green Impact Development Initiatives (GIDI) is set to join the rest of the world to hold this year’s Climathon scheduled to hold on Friday, 27th October across the world.
Climathon is a global 24-hours climate change event organized by Climate-KIC which takes place simultaneously in major cities around the world.
The Lagos Climathon will have in attendance; Environmentalists, policy makers, private sector individuals and students from higher institutions. Among the attendee are: Prof. Lanre Fagbohun, Professor of Environmental Law and Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University; Prof. Emmanuel Olukayode Ladipo, Professor of Geography and Climate Change and Drought expert; Dr. Irekpitan Okukukpon, Lawyer and Research fellow NIALS; Dr. Mrs Erimma Orie, Law Lecturer, National Open University amongst other environmentalists and policy makers.
Cimathon brings together the challenges of the world’s cities with the people who have the passion and ability to solve them.
Participants are to tackle local climate challenge in the full 24 hours period before presenting their ideas to relevant stakeholders. The ideas would then form policy solutions to address climate challenges across the globe
The 24 hours event which would take place for the first time in Lagos Nigeria would hold in over 100 cities. Nigerian Environmentalists, Policy makers, stakeholders, students and public individuals are expected to attend the event.
Venue of the event is MRC Hall, Lagos State College of Medicine, LASUTH.
