The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), with his immediate family has presented for dedication, a family chapel in commemoration of his 61st birthday.
The place of worship within the Governor’s personal residence at the Government Reserved Area (GRA) in Owo, was dedicated by the Lord Bishop of Owo Diocese, Anglican Communion, the Rt. Rev’d (Dr) James Adedayo Oladunjoye and named the Chapel of Epiphany.
In his message at the Dedication and Communion Service to mark Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu’s birthday, Bishop Oladunjoye said as epiphany symbolizes the revelation of Christ to the gentiles in Christendom, the newly dedicated Chapel of Epiphany is an added selfless service of Governor Akeredolu who is the Chancellor of Owo Diocese, Anglican Communion.
He described the governor as a child of God who remains a pride to the Diocese. “Governor Akeredolu has once again demonstrated that he is an evangelist who every Christian should be. He is a focused, disciplined and man of integrity. We as a Church of God and the entire Diocese of Owo will not leave him, we will always pray for him to succeed beyond the achievements of his predecessors in office”, he said.
The celebrant, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, said God had showered His benevolence upon him and family members, for them to continue to live a life of service unto God and his people.
The governor said building chapels has been his quiet evangelical efforts at bringing people to the knowledge of Jesus Christ without making any publicity.
In her chat with newsmen, Wife of the Governor, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, whose birthday was the previous day, described her husband as a man of God who has due reverence for God and activities in His Vineyard.
Thanksgivings by the celebrant and family members with some associates preceded the “Alleluia Chorus” which climaxed the 2017 Birthday celebration of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu at sixty-one.
