Kayode Bello has sued Council of Legal Education for expelling him from the Nigeria Law School over what he termed a simple misunderstanding between him and his colleague on sit reservation in the lecture hall.
The suit with SUIT NO: FHC/ABJ/CS/717/2017 filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja, also joined the Inspector General of Police as the second Defendant.
According to TheNigerialawyer, Kayode Bello sued Council of Legal Education for alleged forcefully ejecting him from his room 017, Block F, of the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja in March, 2017 and was subsequently expelled from the school for a simple misunderstanding over sitting reservation with a colleague.
Filed along side the substantive suit by Kayode Bello is a motion for leave of court to have the matter heard during the vacation of Federal High Court. He cited the Bar final exam which starts on the 15th of August, 2017 as a substantial reason for having the suit heard during the Court’s annual vacation. He is urging the court to intervene promptly to enable him participate in the exam. He also urged the court not to allow the present expulsion jeopardize his desire to build a career as a legal practitioner.
No date has been fixed for hearing of the matter.
It would be recalled that Kayode Bello a law student was expelled by the Nigerian Law School weeks before the commencement of the bar final exam on alleged conduct which the authorities said were unbecoming of an aspiring law student. Kayode had since responded to the said allegation insisting that he was being victimized by the Law School Management.
