Lagos High Court Announces Easter Vacation!

In a statement issued by the Chief Registrar of Lagos High Court E. O Ogundare dated 1st March, 2017, the Lagos State High Court has approved Easter 2017 vacation as follows:

NOTICE

IN THE HIGH COURT OF LAGOS STATE

2017 EASTER VACATION 

It is stated for general information that the Chief Judge of Lagos State, the Honourable Justice O.O Atilade, has pursuant to Order 45 rule 4(A) & (B) of the High Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2012 approved that the period between Friday the 14th day of April, 2017 to Friday, 21st day of April, 2017 shall be the period fixed for the Easter Vacation 2017.

Please Note that work shall resume on Monday, 24th Day of April, 2017.

Arrangements for dealing with urgent cases during the Easter Vacation are that each Judge will deal with all urgent application related to any substantive cause already assigned to him/her. Any urgent application the substantive cause of which has not already been assigned will be dealt with by the Judge to whom the application is specifically assigned.

Notwithstanding the provisions of Order 45 Rule 4, any cause or matter may be heard by a Judge during the period of the Easter vacation where such a cause is urgent and provided that the condition prescribed by Order 45 Rule 5 shall be observed and complied with.
