The much-awaited 2017 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, begins on a spiritual note today with a special Jumat prayer scheduled for the Lagos Central Mosque located along Nnamdi Azikiwe Street, Central Business District, Lagos.
Leading Nigerian Muslim lawyers to the mosque for the observance of this Special prayer is the President of NBA ,Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, SAN who will be accompanied by the President of Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria, MULAN, Dr. kamal Alhaji Dawud and Eminent Lagos lawyers including Elder Statesman Alhaji Femi Okunnu, SAN.
The President will also attend the Jumat with NBA General Secretary, Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, Dr. Garba Tetengi, SAN, Mni, Alternate Chairman of the Technical Committee for Conference Planning, TCCP, Chief of Staff to NBA President, Muritala Abdul Rasheed, NBA’s National Treasurer, Aisha Ado Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary, Waziri Alhaji Bukar.Adesina Adegbite, Welfare Secretary and Alh. (Chief) R. O Balogun NBA National Legal Adviser.
Eminent Muslim lawyers from the ranks of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, SAN, who are expected in the mosque include Dr. Muiz Banire, SAN, Layi Babatunde, SAN ,Kemi Peheinro SAN and Tola Kassim, SAN, as well as Alhaji Tajuddeen OLadoja, a Life Bencher and former President if MULAN
The Chief Imam will be praying for the successful execution of the laudable programmes of this year transformational conference which is attracting an unprecedented 13.000 .00 delegates by praying for divine blessings for all them and the efforts of the current NBA administration to reinvent the Bar.The LOC under the Chairmanship of Alh Lawal Pedro has made adequate preparation for the success of the jumaat prayer which is the first event of the AGC.
The Muslim Cleric will be praying for peace, security and prosperity of Nigeria in the years ahead.
