Osun State Police Command has arraigned a 24-year old man, Olatunde Rhaman before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing phones from a mosque in Osogbo, Osun State.
The Police Prosecutor, Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that Olatunde entered the Kosemani Mosque on the 17th of March, 2017 and stole four phones and a laptop there.
He explained that the phones and laptop belong to some students including Bolarinwa Adekunle, Adetola Mubarak, Aderanti Adedotun and Usman Suliyat who were charging them in the mosque.
Abiodun added that the accused also broke into the house of one Rafiu Saheed and one Sunday Victor on the same day and stole their phones.
Abiodun said the offences committed by Olatunde contravened sections 390 (9), 412, 415 and section 516 of Criminal Cope Cap, Volume II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.
When his charges were read to him, Olatunde pleaded not guilty of the offences. His counsel, Mrs Raji Abiodun prayed the court to grant her client bail in the most liberal terms.
In his ruling, Chief Magistrate Olusola Aluko granted the accused person the bail of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum. He adjourned the case till the 25th of April, 2017.
