It was celebration of excellence as cream of Lawyers, SAN, Traditional Rulers, Union Activist and Ondo State Governor, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu SAN honoured Sir Charles Titiloye at the Commissioning of Charles Titiloye House at 27 Ayelabola Street, Akure.
Akeredolu Akeredolu described Titiloye as an ‘industrious young man committed to the service of the oppressed and downtrodden’.“Titiloye is my close associate. I always used his office as my point of contact anytime I came to Akure for professional assignments. He belongs to a special class of lawyers who combined activism with legal practice. “Only very few people like Gani Fawehinmi, Kanmi Ishola-Osobu and Femi Falana had succeeded in marrying the two trades together, hence, I salute Titiloye for his greater responsibility to serve humanity,” Akeredolu said.
On his part, the former Chairman of ASUU Dr. Busuyi Mekusi, commended Charles Titiloye for always standing by the downtrodden, poor and oppressed masses. “when we members of ASUU Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba, Akoko were assaulted, queried and suspended by the University authority, Charles Titiloye fought for us without taking money beyond logistics required for the case and we were reinstated back to the University.”
Oso Adetunji, NBA Chairman, Akure Branch said that Titiloye success is an encouragement to young Lawyers, i supported him when he contested and won the election for the Secretary of NBA, Akure Branch.
In his welcoming speech, Sir Charles Titiloye expressed gratitude to God for making the completion and commissioning of Charles Titiloye House a reality.
“Charles Titiloye House consist of JESUS THE KING ADVOCATES CHAMBERS, (my law firm) and CENTRE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS. I thank almighty God for making this project a success.
This building (Charles Titiloye House) has 3 floors. The first floor, by the Right wing is the reception while the left wing is divided into two big halls, one for seminar and meeting of human rights groups and the other part for the secretariat of affiliated Human Rights Non Governmental Organisation (N.G.O) some of which I nursed for years in Akure in the crusade for Justice, genuine people oriented democratic governance and protection of Human Rights.
The 2nd floor has the Lawyers’ Chambers, Reading room and Library. On the 3rd floor, we have the Principal Partners’ office, Conference room/mini library, Secretary/Administrative office, a kitchenette and Private rest room. Each Floor has convenience like Toilet/Bathing rooms attached to it.
This building is a home to all persons of all race, creed, religion and philosophy. Our binding principle is the struggle for protection of Human Rights, Justice, Rule of law and welfare of our people.
I must thank all our invited guests for coming despite the short notice. To my brothers at the bar, we have no other profession that we can call our own; let us continue to make the legal profession proud in all our activities. To my comrade activists, we cannot afford to fail, the struggle must continue. To members of my Great party APC, let us come together to give to our people the desire Change they yearn for when they voted for our party.

I appreciate Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN, the Governor of Ondo State for coming to commission this building. This is the first project you will commission on your assumption of office and we (the AKETIS) knows that greater projects are on the way that will put smile on the face of our people. We all work and pray that one of the very best among our people will lead the sunshine State as the Governor. Here we have one of such illustrious sons of Ondo State emerging as the Governor. He cannot do it alone, let us offer him our support and advice. His success as the Governor is surely the success of our people and our State.

Sir Charles Titiloye is a human right activist and a renowned social critic. He was former Secretary NBA Akure Branch. Charles escaped assassination sometime in 2014 while handling some high profile and sensitive cases. He is a Knight of the Catholic Church of the order of Saint Mulumba
