Two Kidnappers Convicted, Sentenced to Death

Hon. Justice NFN Ntong sitting at Akwa Ibom State High Court, Ikot Ekpene has sentenced sentenced two kidnappers to death.

The kidnappers, Morris Asuquo Okon (M) aged 34 years and Mirabel Uche Ogbu (F) aged 22 years were charged to court for kidnapping five (5) under aged children and selling them for various sums. Their victims were Uduak Patrick Oscar (M) aged 9, Victory Patrick Oscar (F) aged 7 and Treasure Patric Oscar (M) aged 4, children of the same parents. Their other victims were Mary Udeme Jack (F) aged 5 and Robert Udeme Jack (M) aged 2, also children of the same parents. These victims have not been found till date.

The Honorable Court acted on the Confessional Statements of the accused persons as well as the evidence of the prosecution  team led by Mrs. Helen Umoh, an Assistant Director in the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Justice.
