BREAKING: Arthur Obi Okafor Sues NBA, Asks Court to Void Election Result


Chief Arthur Obi Okafor SAN has filed a suit to challenge the outcome of the just concluded Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) National Election.

In an originating summons filed at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja today 29th August, 2018, with Suit No: CV/2633/18  Chief Obi-Okafor is suing 37 persons including the Registered Trustees of the Nigerian Bar Association; the outgoing President of NBA; the Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the NBA; the incoming President of the NBA among others.

Among the reliefs sought by Chief Obi-Okafor is  an order of court declaring that the failure of the ECNBA to conduct an all candidate participatory election audit before the announcement and issuance of certificate of return to the incoming president renders the said announcement null and void.

Chief Arthur Obi has by a letter dated 29th August, 2018 brought to the attention of the NBA notice of the pendency of the suit.
