Late Emeka Eze was Abandoned by NBA when He Needed Help – ESUTH Law Class of ’04 Alleges

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr. Paul Usoro SAN earlier today issued a statement mourning the demise of two members of the NBA; Mr. Emeka Agundu who was killed by yet to be identified gunmen and Mr. Emeka Eze who died after a protracted illness.

In the statement, the NBA President was quoted to have specifically thanked the NBA Abuja Branch for assisting with the payment of Late Eze’s medical Bill

“Mr.  President particularly thanks the Chairman and members of the Abuja branch for their efforts in contributing to the hospital bills of Mr. Eze in a bid to save his life.”

The above irked the ESUTH  Law School Class of 2004 who according to one of them have been the ones carrying the burden of Late Eze’s medical bill despite repeated appeal to the NBA both at the National and Branch level to come to his aids.

Speaking to DNL Legal and Style, an obviously miffed member of the Law School class accused NBA of abandoning the late Eze when he needed them most. In his words:

“Let it be clearly noted, that the NBA Abuja Branch and indeed NBA is unfortunately taking credit for the treatment of/contribution for Mr. Emeka Longinus Eze despite their repeated failures to respond to SOS sent to them while Mr. Eze’s health deteriorated.”

“Let it be clearly noted that the hospital bills and treatment of Mr Emeka Eze was solely handled by his classmates of Enugu State University  (ESUT).”

“Notice is therefore given to the NBA to withdraw the annoying and vexatious claim with promptitude.”

According to report, the Law School Class took over the responsibility of contributing to Eze’s treatment since 4 years ago. He was said to have recovered and was really looking forward to attending the just concluded conference to reunite with the people whom he said gave him the reason to be alive.

“He was scheduled to attend our class yearly reunion which held during the conference but two days before the meeting we got information that the neurosurgery done on him last year had relapsed.”

“He was rushed back to the hospital by the Association and a surgery was conducted but then after he died. So tell me how and where did NBA and its Abuja branch come into this matter, how and where they help him.”

“Our Association is mourning him. He was a lovely chap. The Association did its best but God decided that he should return home to rest and he left.”

“The Association shall officially react to the NBA release.”
