The National Executive council of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA-NEC) has resolved that all lawyers in Nigeria should boycott the Courts in protest against the unconstitutional removal of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Hon. Justice Onnoghen.
The above was a fall out of the emergency meeting held by the NBA-NEC today in Abuja.
The following were the resolutions reached at the meeting:
- NBA Condemns in strong terms the Unconstitutional Suspension of the CJN.
- NEC resolved that Members should boycott all Courts for the next 2 days starting from tomorrow the 29th to 31st of January, 2019.
- NEC Ratified the Constitution of a 3 Man Committee (which may be expanded) made up of Former Presidents Olanipekun SAN, A. B. Mahmood SAN and President Paul Usoro SAN to interface on the issue.
- NEC adopted and ratified all actions and statements earlier issued by the President on the Prosecution and Suspension of the CJN.
