Court Restrains NBA from Suspending Bayo Akinlade as NBA Ikorodu Chair

A Lagos High Court presided  today granted an order restraining the NBA from preventing Mr. Adebayo Akinlade from performing his function as the Chairman of  NBA Ikorodu Branch.

The order was granted by Honourable Justice Candid-Johnson pursuant was pursuant to an ex parte Mr. Akinlade against the Registered Trustee of the NBA and Mr. Ezekiel Ogbaide.

Arguing the interim application, Mr. Femi Falana SAN counsel for Mr. Akinlade, urged the Honourable Court to grant the order for the purpose of preserving the office of the Claimant.

It would be recalled that at its 2nd quarterly meeting held on 28th March, 2019, the National Executive Counsel of the NBA suspended Mr. Akinlade as the Chairman of NBA Ikorodu Branch and a member of NEC. In his stead, Mr. Ezekiel Ogbaide was appointed to act as the Chairman pending the resolution of Mr. Akinlade’s issues with the NBA.

Mr. Falana appeared with 11 lawyers on behalf of Mr. Akinlade.
The Court adjourned the suit to 16th April, 2019 for hearing of the motion on notice.
