Covid-19: Oyo State Issues Practice Direction for Time Bound Cases

Oyo State Judiciary has issued practice directions to guide hearing of time bound cases in the state.

The guidelines are contained in a copy of the practice directions which was signed by the Chief Judge of the State, Justice M.L Abimbola, and made available to DNL Legal and Style.

The Chief Judge said this decision was necessary due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure that cases are heard and disposed of urgently where applicable.

The Chief Judge while giving the guidelines noted that the practice directions is made in line with the Covid-19 Regulation 2020 and pursuant to Section 274 of the 1999 constitution as amended and Section 32 of the High Court Law Cap 35, Laws of Oyo State 2000 and other enabling legislation.
