On 17th March, 2020, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja branch held a ceremony to inaugurate patrons of the branch and raise fund for the completion of the branch’s Bar Centre which is under construction.
Conferred with the status of patron of the branch are P.O. Jimoh-Lasisi SAN, Layi Babatunde SAN, Kemi Pinheiro SAN, Rowland Otaru SAN. Others are Dele Adesina SAN, Wemimo Ogunde SAN Femi Falana SAN, and Mrs. Roli Craig.
Speaking during the double barrel ceremony, the Chairman of the branch, Prince Dele Oloke, extolled the virtues of those who were conferred with the honour noting that the conferment became important as respect for seniors and elders of the Branch would promote unity of purpose among members. He also urged the elders of the branch to provide the needed mentoring to juniors and guide them towards building successful practices and careers.
In the acceptance speech given on behalf of the patrons by Deacon Dele Adesina, SAN, the patrons thanked the Chairman, the Executives and the entire members of the branch for the honour and pledged their continued support to the activities of the Branch.
The NBA Ikeja bar centre when completed would house a 1,200 seater hall, a cloak room, robing/changing rooms for male and female counsel, a library, a relaxation room, a conference room and rooms for office accommodation. The Dele Oloke Administration has said it is committed to ensuring that the project is completed before the expiration of their tenure.
