The NBA President, Paul Usoro, SAN has directed the suspension of the scheduled elections of Kano Branch and Zaria Branch. Also suspended is the election in respect of the office of NEC Representative for Gwagwalada Branch.
The suspensions are to enable the Appeals Committee earlier constituted by the NBA President to determine the appeals pending against the decisions of the Electoral committees of the affected Branches.
The directives suspending the elections are contained in the Notices signed by the General Secretary of the NBA, Mr. Jonathan Gunu Taidi, and addressed to the Chairmen of the electoral committees of the concerned NBA Branches.
According to the letter to the Branch Chairmen, the members who submitted their appeals to the various Appeal Panels are:
Kano Branch
- Aminu Gadanya Sani and
- Usman Umar Fari
Zaria Branch
- Aysha Ahmad and
- Hussaini Abdu
For the Gwagwalada branch, the President suspended the Election for a representative of the branch to the NBA National Executive Committee (NEC) as a result of the appeal filed by Ignatius Obiora Agbapulu who is vying for the said position.
The notice indicated that election into the various offices of the branch may proceed as scheduled.
In a related development, the NBA President has constituted a three man caretaker committee to pilot in the interim, the affairs of Auchi Branch. This, according to the General Secretary, becomes necessary, “following the expiration of the tenure of the Executive committee of Auchi Branch and due to the stalemate in holding election arising from appeals pending before the 2020 Branch Elections Appeals Panel.
The Committee is composed of the following:

- M. A. Garuba
- D. A. Alegbe
The Caretaker Committee may co-opt such members as it deems necessary.
