Lagos Chief Judge Bans Court Registrars from Receiving Court Processes


The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice K.O Alogba has banned Registrars of Court from receiving processes from counsel, litigants and litigation officers.

The ban which attracts disciplinary action is contained in a directive issues by the ACR (Litigation) N.A Adekeye which is addressed to the Registrars of both the High Courts and Magistrates courts.

The directives reads in part:

I have the directive of the Honourable Chief Judge Hon. Justice K. O Alogba to inform all the Court Registrars that henceforth, all Court processes filed by Counsel shall be dispatched by the Records section of the Litigation Registry and that on no occasion should Registrars receive process from Counsel, Litigants and/or Litigation officers.

Please adhere strictly to the above directive as failure to comply will attract disciplinary action.”
