Alleged Misconduct: LPDC’s Initial Finding Clears Olanipekun Partners

The  investigation by the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) into the allegation of professional misconduct against Ms. Adekunbi Ogunde, a Partner in Wole Olanipekun & Co, has cleared the firm’s partners of any culpability in the controversy.

The reviewer held that there is  no merit in recommending further investigation against the Partners of Wole Olanipekun & Co as there are no evidence to show that Ms Ogunde acted with the approval of the Partners of the firm. It also indicated that with the express and constant denial of the content of the controversial email by the partners and insistence that Ms Ogunde acted without the approval of the firm.

NBA had asked the LPDC to determine whether to also punish all partners in the firm for alleged culpability in the saga.

The review may have given a breather to Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, Chairman of the Body of Benchers, especially in light of the demand by the Nigerian Bar Association that he recuses himself pending the hearing of NBAs petition against Ms Ogunde.
