Suit Challenging Section 84(12) of the Electoral Act: Why NBA Appeared as Amicus curiae at the Supreme Court – Akpata


Upon becoming aware of the suit filed at the Supreme Court, by the Nigerian President and the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation against the National Assembly, seeking to strike down Section 84(12) of the Electoral Act, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)  brought an application to join the said suit as an interested party or in the alternative be heard as Amicus Curiae.

At the hearing of the suit, the Supreme Court heard the argument of NBA as an Amicus Curiae.
