As Appeal Court President, My Wife Extended Help To My Colleagues — Senator Bulkachuwa

Senator Adamu Bulkachuwa says his wife, Zainab extended help to some of his colleagues during her time as President of the Court of Appeal.

Bulkachuwa, 83, who represented Bauchi North Senatorial District in the 9th Senate, made the disclosure during Senate Valedictory Session on Saturday.

Zainab was President of the Appeal Court between April 2014 to March 2020.

Addressing the 9th Senate led by Ahmad Lawan on Saturday, Bulkachuwa said, “I look at faces in this chamber whom have come to me and sought for my help when my wife was the President of the Court of Appeal.”

However, Bulkachuwa was interjected by Lawan, the President of the 9th Senate.

“Distinguished Senator Adamu Muhammed Bulkachuwa, I think I will advise that you just round up and just take your seat,” Lawan said.

“I didn’t name any name. We know ourselves,” Bulkachuwa retorted.

“Well, Mr President, I will say, ‘Thank you’,” Bulkachuwa concluded.

Earlier, Bulkachuwa said he “messed up” the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 Bauchi State Governorship Election because the party did not recognise him as a stakeholder in the state.

In the March 18, 2023 poll, Governor Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 525,280 to trounce his closest rival and APC candidate, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, Nigeria’s immediate past Chief of Air Staff, who polled 432,272.
