Drug Dealer Sentenced to 18 Months Imprisonment

Justice Abdul-Aziz Anka of a Lagos Federal High Court, has sentenced a 20 year-old man, Oyatolu Abiodun, to one and half years imprisonment for unlawful dealing in banned substance called heroin.
The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, through its prosecutor, Mr. Jerry Aernan, had informed the court that the convict was arrested with 9.9 grams of heroin, at Ipodo area of Ikeja, Lagos.
Aernan further informed the court that the convict confessed to the crime, and the white powdery substance tested positive to be heroin when a laboratory test was conducted on it.
The convict, whom the prosecutor said to be a first time offender, had  pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of unlawful dealing in banned substance.
Abiodun begged the court to temper justice with mercy and promised not to engage in the act, if pardoned.
The presiding judge, Justice Abdul-Aziz Anka, however sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment.
