In a remarkable show of support for the next generation of legal professionals, 12 outstanding law students have been named recipients of the prestigious Reginald Aziza Leadership in Law Scholarship. This scholarship, made possible through the generous contributions of anonymous donors, aims to support exceptional students facing financial challenges while demonstrating academic excellence and leadership.
The beneficiaries of the 2024 edition of the scholarship are:

Comprehensive Support for Scholars
The scholarship covers tuition fees and financial assistance for the awardees as they pursue their studies at the Nigerian Law School. In addition, recipients will receive tailored mentoring and support to help them navigate their academic and professional journeys.
To further reward academic excellence, The Solohan Foundation has pledged to provide a free wig and gown set—courtesy of Solohan Apparels, Africa’s premier legal outfitter—to any scholarship recipient who achieves a first-class grade at the Nigerian Law School.
Additionally, the Information Security and Privacy Bridge will offer a six-month internship to one recipient with a demonstrated interest in Information and Technology Law. The internship will provide hands-on experience in IT and legal consulting, as well as volunteering opportunities and tailored career mentorship in technology law.
A Commitment to Future Legal Leaders
Speaking on the initiative, Reginald Aziza, the scholarship’s founder, expressed confidence in the potential of the awardees, stating:
“Each of the awardees is a future star of the Nigerian legal profession, and I am excited about the heights they will attain.”
Aziza, an Attorney in the Legal Division of Chevron Nigeria Limited, has over 11 years of post-qualification experience, advising on high-value disputes and transactions across multiple jurisdictions. A distinguished scholar, he holds a Master’s in Corporate Law from the University of Cambridge and a Doctorate from the University of Oxford. His areas of interest include energy law, dispute resolution, financial regulation, law and development, and law and economics.
The Reginald Aziza Leadership in Law Scholarship continues to be a beacon of hope for aspiring legal professionals, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder talented and ambitious students from reaching their full potential.
