Friends, associates march for Gani Fawehinmi in Lagos

Comrades, Friends, Associates of Chief Gani Fawehinmi, SAN, gathered at the Ikeja under bridge, across Awolowo Way in Lagos to kick start rally/march in memory of the late iconoclastic pro-democracy leader who died September 5th 2009.

Solidarity songs in memory of the ultimate icon reverberated throughout the march from Ikeja to Ojota.

At the Cenotaph of Gani Fawehinmi, the Chair of GAFAMOG, Comrade Ayodele Akele, told the gathering that without the struggles of Gani Fawehinmi there would never be an end to military rule in Nigerian, he further said without the Ganis there would have been only three parties of the rich that the masses would be forced to always choose from.

The President of Women Arise, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, said 7 years after, Gani is still remembered for his doggedness & principled commitment for the defence of the down trodden.
