Breaking: Court Discharges and Acquits Paul Usoro SAN

Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court has upheld the No Case Submission filed against the immediate past President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Paul Usoro SAN by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission  (EFCC).

In a judgment delivered today at the Federal High Court  Lagos, Justice Aikawa  held that the counts against the Defendant were defective as they did not disclose offences known to both Lagos and Akwa Ibom State.

His Lordship also held that the Prosecution did not disclose a prima facie case against the Defendant.

Mr. Usoro was subsequently discharged and acquitted.
