The first meeting of the Elders of Ikeja Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association held in an attempt to resolve the leadership feud rocking the Branch ended without the Elders reaching any conclusive decision.
The Elders agreed to reconvene after the Eid-ul-Adha holiday as several issues raised could not be resolved to enable them make recommendation as mandated by the National President.
Our sources expressed hope that the elders may be able to reach a decision and make recommendation at their resumed meeting after the break.
It would be recalled that at the meeting convened by the National President of the NBA to reconcile the feuding parties, it was unanimously resolved that an enlarged meeting of the Elders of NBA Ikeja Branch be convened to make recommendations to the President on the Interim and long term measures to be taken towards amicable resolution of the dispute. The Elders were given till Friday 16, September 2016 to report to the President.
Whether the Elders would be able to meet the deadline for the submission of their report would be determined by the outcome of the further reconciliation meeting which would be held after the break.
