NBA 2024 Election: ECNBA Receives 50 Nominations

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA), Oluseun Abimbola SAN has revealed that no fewer than 50 submissions were recieved from aspirants to the various national offices in the forth coming NBA general election scheduled to hold in July.

The Chairman made this revelation during the “opening of nomination envelopes” of persons who have submitted forms to contest at the forthcoming NBA elections.

The opening of the envelope was held at the public ceremony held on Monday, April 15th, at the ECNBA Secretariat located at No. 9 Oro Ago Crescent, Garki, Abuja, in the presence of members of the ECNBA as well as  prospective candidates and their authorised representatives were present. Also present were lawyers, observers and pressmen.

In his speech the Chairman of the Committee noted that the event was the opening of the submissions envelops and not the screen exercise which he indicated would hold at a later date. He assured all present that the entire process would be transparent to all stakeholders.

Furthermore, he adviced prospective candidates to desist from anything that would make them run foul of the provisions of the NBA Constitution during the process noting that the Committee is committed to ensuring that the provisions of the constitution is followed to the later.
