Renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Attorney General of Ogun State, Oluwemimo Ogunde, SAN, has taken a significant step toward securing the future of his esteemed law firm, Wemimo Ogunde & Co. In a recent announcement on his verified LinkedIn page, he disclosed that he has identified a successor to take over the reins of the firm as he approaches the age of 70.

Below is the LinkedIn post:

SUCCESSION AT WEMIMO OGUNDE & CO

I am already looking into succession at Wemimo Ogunde & Co. I’ll be 70 in a few years. The young colleague in this photograph is my successor. Why have I put my trust in her?

1. She accepted the traditions of the firm as the irreducible minimum- professional excellence, litigation as our main source of income, equal opportunity for clients and colleagues and courtesy and honour for opponents, whether litigant or colleague.

2. She is ready to build on that foundation and lift the firm higher than she met it.

3. She is a selfless leader. When benefits accrue to staff, she takes the least or sometimes nothing at all.

3. She is considerate to indigent clients.

4. She is a forward-looking professional, open to new ideas, creative solutions and innovative ways of law practice.

I won’t mention her name or year of call. But that’s my successor sitting beside me. Wemimo Ogunde & Co is in safe hands.
