Five Nigerians Arrested For Theft in Libya

Authorities in Sabha, Libya, have arrested five Nigerians for allegedly stealing electrical equipment from a farm.

The arrest was disclosed by Migrant Rescue Watch via a post on social media on Monday, May 26, 2025.

According to the report, the suspects were apprehended by officers from the Al-Qahira Police Department on Sunday, May 25.

The statement noted that all five individuals have been referred to public prosecution for further legal action.

The statement read, “#Libya 25.05.25 – Al-Qahira Police Dept. (Sabha) arrested 5 #migrants of Nigerian nationality for theft of electrical equipment from a farm. All referred to public prosecution for legal action. #migrantcrisis #DontTakeToTheSea #seenotrettung #Frontex”
