LPPC Announces Shortlisted Applicants for 2025 SAN Rank, invites Public Scrutiny, Comments Until July 14th

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has officially released the shortlist of applicants who have successfully advanced in the 2025 conferment process for the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).


In a public notice signed by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, Kabir Eniola Akanbi, Esq the shortlisted candidates successfully scaled through the following stages:

Advocates 1 and 2 Filtration Stages

Academic Pre-Qualification Screening

Academic Second Filtration Exercise

Independent Appeals Hearing

Law Office Inspection Exercise

These stages, the LPPC noted, are integral to ensuring that only the most deserving legal practitioners attain the SAN rank, which is widely regarded as a mark of distinction, honour, and leadership in the legal profession.

The list released consists of a total of 57 Advocate Applicants and 15 Academic Applicants, selected in line with the LPPC Guidelines.

The general public is hereby invited to submit comments on the integrity, reputation, and competence of the listed candidates. Every complaint must be accompanied with a verifying affidavit deposed to by the author before a Superior Court of Record in Nigeria or a Notary Public, submitted in 20 copies to the LPPC Secretariat no later than 4:00 pm on Monday, July 14, 2025.
