Olumide Babalola and Uchenna Nnawuchi to Present Casebook on Privacy and Data Protection in Nigeria

Date:

Leading privacy law scholars Olumide Babalola and Uchenna Nnawuchi, PhD are set to publicly unveil their latest scholarly work titled “Casebook on Privacy and Data Protection in Nigeria” in a virtual presentation scheduled for Monday, 4th August 2025 at 2:00 PM WAT. The event will be hosted live via Zoom and is expected to draw participants from across the legal, academic, and regulatory communities.

The casebook is a pioneering academic resource, compiling landmark judicial decisions on privacy and data protection in Nigeria from independence to the present day. It offers legal practitioners, scholars, and policy makers a comprehensive and authoritative reference for understanding the evolution, value, misconception and current contours of privacy and data protection jurisprudence in the country.

The book will be reviewed by Professor Adedeji Adekunle, SAN a former director general of the Nigerian Advanced Institute of Legal Studies – one of Nigeria’s foremost legal minds in constitutional law. According to the authors, Olumide and Uchenna the casebook “fills a long-standing gap in Nigerian legal literature and is intended to support both scholarship and practice in a rapidly developing field of law.”
