Akwa Ibom Police Neutralises Kidnap Kingpin Behind Abduction of High Court Judge, Recover Firearms

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Wednesday neutralised a dreaded Kidnap Kingpin/ Sea Pirate whose stock in trade was to kidnap, kill, maim and cause havoc in the state.

The Kingpin, Ubong Archibong alias condiment, a gang leader of the bling marine strike force terrorising Uruan/Oron Water Ways, was responsible for the kidnapping of a High Court Judge, Joy Unwana and the killing of her Police orderly Inspector, ThankGod Edet, the gruesome murder of the CEO Emem and Sons Nig. Ltd, and the kidnapping of his sales rep.

The suspect was also responsible for the kidnap of Pharmacist Joemel as well as responsible for the kidnap of Brown, Chief Executive Officer of Mingles Hotel.

A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Akwa Ibom state command, ASP TIMFON JOHN said the Suspect was neutralised during a gun battle with operatives of the command in his hideout at Uyanga Community in Cross River State.

He said, “One G3 riffle with four live ammunition was recovered from the suspect. The corpse of the suspect was recovered and deposited at the morgue. Investigations with full intent to arrest other members of the gang are ongoing. ”

Meanwhile, the command has reassured Akwa Ibom people of the determination of the Police Command, to constantly make Akwa Ibom a safe and secure place for business to thrive.

The command, however, called on Akwa Ibom people to report all suspicious movements to the police, adding that the Police are determined to serve with all amount of professionalism.
