Read below NBA’s call on lawyers to send contribution to the process of review and amendment of the 2009 Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules.
REQUEST FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSED REVIEW/AMENDMENT TO THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT(CIVIL PROCEDURE) RULES, 2009
Dear Learned Colleague,
The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court had through a letter addressed to the President of the Nigerian Bar Association requested the NBA to send its contribution to the process of the review and amendment of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2009.
In the light of the above, the President of the NBA, Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud, OON SAN, on the 10th day of May, 2017 constituted a three (3) man Committee to come up with recommendations to be forwarded to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court as the contribution of the association to the process of amending the Rules. The Committee is to submit its report on or before the 24th day of May, 2017.
The Committee has Chief Muyiwa Akinboro, SAN as Chairman, Chinedu Ebubedike as member, while Sagir Suleiman Gezawa shall serve as the Secretary.
In view of the above mandate, the Committee resolved that memoranda/proposal be submitted, as such members are hereby invited to submit memoranda/proposal on areas that require review or amendment to the Rules for consideration by the Committee.
