Breaking: Supreme Court affirms Adeleke as Osun State Governor

The supreme court has affirmed the election of Ademola Adeleke as the governor of Osun state.

Delivering judgement today, Tuesday 9th of May, 2023, a five-member panel of the apex court held that the court of appeal correctly reinstated Adeleke as governor. The election of Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as the Governor of Osun State.

The judgement followed an earlier decision by a three-member panel of the appellate court led by Mohammed Shuaibu, which affirmed his victory, nullifying the judgement of the election petition tribunal.

The election petition tribunal had in January this year, nullified the governor’s victory.
