Court Jails DJ 2 Months For Dealing in Illicit Drug

A self-acclaimed Disk Jockey (DJ), Victor Tzaddick Hobel has been sentenced to two months imprisonment by a Federal High Court, Lagos for unlawful dealing in Cannabis Sativa, popularly called Marijuana.
 
Justice A. Faji convicted and sentenced the Akwa-Ibom State-born DJ after he pleaded guilty to one-count charge of unlawful dealing in the banned substance by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
 
In reviewing the fact of the case, the prosecutor, Mr. Jeremiah Aernan, informed the court that the 24 years old convict who is from Ibibio extraction of Akwa-Ibom State, was arrested by the Operatives of NDLEA with 100 grams of the banned weed in November, 2016 at Ogbodo area of Atiba, Maryland, Ikeja, where he was selling it.
 
The prosecutor, Mr Aernan also tendered the seized banned weed, the convict’s statement, laboratory test analysis report of the weed and other items which were admitted as exhibits.
 
After reviewing the fact of the case and tendering of exhibits, the prosecutor urged the court to sentence the accused following his plea of guilty.
 
In pronouncing the judgment, Justice Faji, sentenced the convict to two months imprisonment starting from the November 18, 2016, when he was arrested.
 
The judge however cautioned the convict to desist from acts capable of making him to be in his court for another criminal offence, as he will make him to face full wrath of the law.

Justice Faji also informed the convict’s father, who is cleric, to get in touch with the prosecutor anytime he find his son and gang dealing in drug.
