Covid-19: No Security Operative Will Be Allowed To Humiliate Citizens – Ekiti AG Assures

The Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti State, Olawale Fapohunda Esq. has assured the people of Ekiti State on the protection of their rights during this period of stay at home.

Olawale Fapohunda while answering questions on a live telecast broadcasted on TVC News platform on 3rd April 2020 stated that the stay at home order is for the good of everybody.

According to him, “no Security operative will be allowed to humiliate citizens”. Faphounda stated that the stay at home order is for the good of everybody,so that the critical stage of the chain of spread of Coronavirus could be destroyed.

Faphounda said the John Kayode Fayemi led Administration is committed to the welfare of all Ekiti residents, however the fragile health apparatus in Ekiti State would not be able to manage a full blown Pandemic

The Honourable Attorney General observed that Ekiti State is one of the leading State in Nigeria that promptly responded by taking preventive measures to mitigate the spread of the virus in the State.

Faphounda further assured Ekiti residents that the State Government would provide adequate protection from any form of harassment.

The Commissioner for Justice further pleaded that it is important for everybody to obey the stay at home directives. He further said that the Directorate of Citizen Rights and Office of the Public Defender are open for people with complaints.

Faphounda commended the various Ministries and Security outfits involved in the enforcement of the lock-down Order at this difficult time.

In his final remark he said his office will continue to prosecute but with a humane face.
