Federal High Court Begins Christmas Vacation Dec 16

The Federal High Court would go on break from December 16 to mark the Christmas holiday.

In a statement signed by the Chief Judge, Hon. Justice John T. Tsoho,  only Abuja, Lagos, and Port-Harcourt judicial divisions will be open to address fundamental rights-related cases.

“Pursuant  to the provision of Order 46 Rule 4 (c) of the  Federal High Court  (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019, the Federal High Court  will proceed on Christmas vacation for the year 2024 from Monday, 16th December, 2024 to Monday, 6th January, 2025 .

The court shall resume sitting on Tuesday, 7th January, 2025.

During the vacation, only the core Judicial Divisions  will remain functional and open to the litigating public throughout the vacation.

It is essential to stress that in that period, only matters relating to enforcement of fundamental rights, Arrest or Release of Vessel and matters that concern dire National Interest shall be entertained by vacation judges.
