This is to advise legal practitioners to ignore news making round in some online media under the heading “Lagos High Court Modifies List of Court Processes for Commencement of Action” suggesting that the mode of commencement of proceeding at the Lagos State High Court has been modified.

A staff of the High Court who spoke with DNL Legal and Style noted that the report emanated from the public notice issued to litigants and lawyers reiterating the provision of Order 3 of the Lagos State Civil Procedure Rules 2012 for ease of reference.

See picture below:

In his words “Please be informed that the notice reiterated the existing mode of commencement of action as contained in Order 3 of the High Court Rules 2012. No modifications have been made to the rules. It is posted for ease of reference please.”
