The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, SAN has appointed Oyinkansola Badejo Okunsanya as the Chairperson of the NBA AGC 2024 Planning Committee. Also appointed alongside Badejo are Amina Sulieman Kaoje as the Alternate Chairperson while Laura Alakija retains her appointment as the Secretary to the Committee with Chika Eucharia Okorie as the Alternate Secretary.
The president in a notice issued on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 noted that their appointment followed the resolution of the NBA NEC at its December 2023 meeting to hold the AGC in Lagos between August 23 and August 30 2024.
He noted:
At the meeting of the National Executive Committee of the NBA held on the 22 December 2023, it was agreed that the 2024 NBA Annual General Conference shall be held in Lagos State from 23 to 30 August 2024. Consequently, the AGCPC is hereby reconstituted, subject to ratification by NEC, as follows: Oyinkansola Badejo Okunsanya shall be the Chairperson of the Committee, while Amina Sulieman Kaoje shall be the Alternate Chairperson. Laura Alakija remains the Secretary of the Committee and Chika Eucharia Okorie will act as the Alternate Secretary of the 2024 AGCPC.
In addition to other members to be appointed into the Committee, the Chairperson of the Committee shall be at liberty to co-opt such other members who in the opinion of the Chairperson shall add value to the work of Committee. The Committee is charged with the responsibility of organizing and delivering a worldclass and memorable 64th Annual General Conference for our revered members. The theme, venue, and other details of the Conference will be announced in due course.
