NBA Invites Lawyers to Apply for the Paris Bar “Stage International” Training Program

The Paris Bar in partnership with the Ecole de Formation professionnelle des Barreaux du resort de la cour d’appel de Paris (EFB) is organising a training program “Stage International” for lawyers and has invited interested members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to send in applications.

The “Stage International” is an eight-week training course for young foreign lawyers (up to 40 years old) who are fluent in French and wish to discover the French and European Law as well as the practice of the legal profession in France in an international environment. It also offers the unique opportunity to create a network between young lawyers from different backgrounds and promote the exchange of legal experience and knowledge as well as the practice of comparative law.

The training will hold in October and November, 2023. During the first month, participants will benefit from a training at the “Ecole de Formation du Barreau” to enable them apprehend in a practical way the French legal system and its procedures in civil, criminal and commercial matters. They also discover the daily reality of the Palais de Justice by going regularly to hearings, visit the major French institutions and discover European Law. During the second month, participants will have the opportunity to be at the heart of the Parisian legal life alongside Parisian volunteer lawyers.

The course is free of charge as it is entirely paid for by the Paris Bar. However, participants will be responsible for their travel and stay in Paris.

The NBA hereby invites all interested members who have a working knowledge of the French language and can pay for their travel and stay in Paris to apply to submit their applications on or before 14th June, 2023. Applications should include the following documents:

  1. Curriculum Vitae in French
  2. Motivation letter in French
  3. A passport photograph
  4. A copy biodata page of passport
  5. Evidence of payment of Bar Practicing Fee and Branch Dues for 2023
