NBA President Sets Up Legal Practitiomers Remuneration  Enforcement Committee in All Branches

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, has set up committees in all the NBA branches to implement the Legal Practitioners Remuneration (for Business, Legal Service and Representation) Order, 2023

The statement issued by the NBA to that effect reads:

Distinguished Colleagues,

As you may recall, the present NBA administration led by Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN in 2023, ensured the passage of the Legal Practitioners Remuneration (for Business, Legal Service and Representation) Order, 2023 which objective amongst others is to improve the standard of compensation for legal services.

In order to enforce the provisions of this Remuneration Order for the benefit of all members, the NBA President, Mr. Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN has set up Remuneration Committees in all the branches of the NBA.

A series of workshops will soon be held to sensitize members of these committees and all other members of the NBA on the duties and operations of these committees.

Please find attached for your reference the Notice by the NBA President containing the list of members of the Remuneration Committees.
