The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), at its ongoing National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Enugu, has officially approved the conference fees for the much-anticipated 2025 Annual General Conference, scheduled to take place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from August 23-30, 2025. This announcement follows NBA President Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN’s commitment, first outlined in his inaugural speech in August, to make the conference accessible and inclusive.
The NEC’s decision implements a tiered fee structure based on years of practice, aiming for fair and inclusive participation across the profession. Notably, Young Lawyers (1-9 years post-call) will benefit from a 20% fee reduction, a promise made by the NBA President. Their conference fee is set at N40,000, available until May 31, 2025, to encourage their active involvement in the conference.
Lawyers with 10-19 years of post-call experience can access the early bird rate of N75,000, aligning with fees from the 2024 conference. Senior Lawyers with over 50 years post-call or those aged 70 and above will enjoy free attendance, recognizing their contributions and dedication to the profession.
The 2025 conference is expected to provide a platform for networking, learning, and unity among legal professionals nationwide. The Conference Planning Committee, led by Emeka Obegolu SAN as Chairman, with Sammie Somiari SAN as Alternate Chair and Barbara Omosun as Secretary, alongside other key members, is committed to organizing an engaging and memorable event for all attendees.
Members are encouraged to mark their calendars and register early to secure their spots at this landmark conference.
