NBA Unveils Vision for 2025 Annual General Conference with Theme “Stand Out, Stand Tall”

Date:

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has set the stage for its 2025 Annual General Conference with the unveiling of its theme, “Stand Out, Stand Tall,” and an accompanying logo. The event, held on Monday, 25th November 2024, at the NBA Secretariat, signalled the commencement of preparations for what promises to be a transformative gathering of legal professionals nationwide.

NBA President, Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN, described the theme as a rallying call for lawyers to excel, innovate, and maintain an unwavering commitment to justice and integrity.

“This theme challenges us to embrace excellence and innovation in an increasingly complex world. As lawyers, we must lead with clarity, creativity, and a deep commitment to justice,” he stated.

The 2025 Conference Planning Committee Chairman, Chief Emeka Obegolu SAN, highlighted the significance of the theme and logo during his address. He described “Stand Out” as a challenge to rise above mediocrity and distinguish oneself professionally, while “Stand Tall” encourages resilience, ethical integrity, and bold advocacy in the face of challenges.

“The logo reflects the unity, dynamism, and strength of our profession, symbolizing our shared resolve to lead with courage and distinction,” Chief Obegolu added.

In addition to unveiling the conference theme, the NBA used the occasion to launch its 16-day campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). This initiative includes visits to prisons and detention centers nationwide to facilitate the release of selected inmates and detainees.

The 2025 Annual General Conference is poised to set new standards for innovation and excellence within the legal profession, inspiring members to be standard-bearers of professionalism and justice in Nigeria and beyond.
