In a resounding affirmation of his longstanding commitment to justice and human rights, Nonso Azih has been named a Human Rights Champion by the Human Rights Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Lagos Branch. The prestigious award was presented on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in recognition of his outstanding service in promoting the rule of law and advocating for the rights of marginalized Nigerians.
Mr. Azih, a respected legal practitioner and Principal Counsel at AZIH & AZIH Legal Practitioners, has over 18 years of experience in legal practice, with a specialization in maritime law, employment law, commercial dispute resolution, and related areas. Beyond his professional credentials, he has distinguished himself through consistent pro bono advocacy and legal representation for underserved communities.
As a dedicated member of the NBA Lagos Branch Human Rights Committee, Mr. Azih has held various roles, including serving as alternate chairperson of the planning committee for the 2024 International Human Rights Day (IHRD) Conference.
