Registration Opens for the NBA-YLF Essay Competition in Honour of Oyetola Atoyebi, SAN

Nigerian Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Forum (NBA-YLF) Announces National Essay Competition in Honour of Mr. Oyetola Muyiwa Atoyebi, SAN

The Nigerian Bar Association Young Lawyers Forum (NBA-YLF) is pleased to present a national essay Competition (the “Competition”) in honour of Mr. Oyetola Muyiwa Atoyebi, SAN, the youngest Nigerian Lawyer to attain the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Topic: “My Role as a Lawyer in the Emerging Market of the Nigerian Legal Profession”.

Prizes:

1st Prize – Two Hundred Thousand Naira (N200,000);

2nd Prize – One Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira (N140,000);

3rd Prize – Eighty Thousand Naira (N80,000).

Consolation Prizes:

Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) for the 4th placed essayist and Thirty Thousand Naira (N30,000) for the 5th placed essayist.

Qualification: Young lawyers of not more than 7 years’ post-qualification experience are invited to register to participate via https://bit.ly/NBAYLFessay2020

Between Tuesday, January 21, 2020 and Thursday, January 23, 2020.

Submission Deadline: Qualified participants must submit essay entries on or before February 14, 2020.

Format: Minimum of 2,000 words and a maximum of 3,000 words, inclusive of references.

Referencing style: The Oxford Standard for Citing Legal Authorities (OSCOLA).

Announcement of Winners: March 15, 2020.
