US-Based Nigerian Abayomi Whint makes history, sworn in as Judge in New York

Abayomi Whint, a Nigerian-born legal professional, has been sworn in as Judge for Kings County New York Civil Court.

The ceremony took place at Brooklyn Law School, where she took the oath of office in the presence of family and friends.

Whint was among eight candidates elected as Judges in Brooklyn during the Movember 2024 elections, having been nominated by Brooklyn district leaders.

With over two decades of experience in public sector, Whint has built a career as a litigator, certified mediator, and arbitrator specializing in conflict resolution.
