37 years old Tijani Mohammed, who allegedly stole three trucks laden with rice worth N5.5 million, was in Lagos on Tuesday charged before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court.<\/p>\n
The accused, is facing a two-count charge of fraud and stealing. He, however, pleaded innocence of the offences.<\/p>\n
The Magistrate, Mrs Helen Omisore admitted him to\u00a0 bail in the sum of N1million each with two sureties each in like sum who must show proof of payment of tax.<\/p>\n
Insp. Cousin Adams said the offences were committed on March 9 at about 2.00 p.m. at Daleko market, Mushin a Lagos surburb. He noted that the accused had fraudulently obtained the sum of N5.5 million from the complainant, Adekunle Ajayi promising to supply him 3 trucks load of rice but had failed to.<\/p>\n
The offences, he noted, contravened Sections 285 and 321 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.<\/p>\n
