The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, on Tuesday, approved the redeployment of 94 judges across Federal High Court divisions in the country.<\/p>\n

A deadline of January 8, 2024 resumption date was given to the affected judges in the posting order announced by Tsoho.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0redeployment was aimed at boosting manpower and optimising the distribution of judicial officers following the recent appointment of 23 new Federal High Court judges.<\/p>\n

A statement from Tsoho\u2019s office indicated the transfers were necessitated by \u201cthe appointment of 23 new judges and other imperatives.\u201d<\/p>\n

The judiciary has been pushing for more hands to ease caseloads burden on judges and fast-track justice delivery.<\/p>\n

Some major locations seeing shuffling of Federal High Court judges include Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin, and Kano.<\/p>\n

The exercise may see elevated acting capacity appointments to fill voids in some jurisdictions.<\/p>\n

The instruction given to the judges, by Justice Tsoho, read, \u201cAll the judges affected by this posting should report at their duty stations before the date of resumption from the 2023 Christmas vacation, being the 8th day of January 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cJudges who have been earlier serving should recall and rigidly adhere to policies\/instructions, concerning the movement of property from one judicial division to another.\u201d<\/p>\n
