A 50-year-old man, Emmanuel Adeyemi has been arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates\u2019 Court for allegedly chaining his stepson for one month and burying four corpses in his residence.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Adeyemi who lives at No 16, Aderinola Olamiju Close, Unity Estate, Ojodu, a suburb of Lagos, was arraigned for deprivation of liberty and unlawful burial in his residence.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The Prosecutor, Rafael Donny, told the court that the offences were committed at the accused residence between July and August, 2016 and unspecified dates.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Mr. Donny said the accused was arrested following information that he chained his 16-year-old stepson in his residence. The victim was chained for a month, the prosecutor said.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cOn investigation, it was also discovered that the accused buried four different corpses in his residence without the permission of the Local Government,\u2019\u2019 he said.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The offences contravened sections 162(1) and 270 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.<\/span><\/div>\n
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0The Chief Magistrate, Taiwo Akanni, admitted the man to bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
She adjourned the case till October 10 for mention.<\/span><\/div>\n
